e-Khata, e-Nakshe launched by MUDA

(i) The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Wednesday launched e-Khata and e-Nakshe schemes to expeditiously issue ‘khatas’ of properties in private layouts and approvals for building plans.
(ii) Speaking after launching the new systems, Minister for Revenue V. Srinivas Prasad, who is also the Minister in charge of the district, said computerisation of the process of issuing ‘khatas’ and building plan approvals will not only bring down the time consumed for delivery of the documents, but also keep middlemen away.
(iii) MUDA Chairman K.R. Mohan Kumar said the applicants should receive their khatas and building plan approvals within 21 days of submission of applications if all the required documents are in order.

Cricket South Africa launched Africa T20 Cup
(i) Cricket South Africa (CSA) on 21 April 2015 announced a new tournament to be known as the Africa T20 Cup. 
(ii) The tournament was planned to promote the game and nurture young talent in the continent. 
(iii) The tournament featuring Zimbabwe, Kenya, Namibia, hosts South Africa and 12 CSA affiliates will run from 4 September to 4 October 2015.

Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand declared as India's 48th Tiger Reserve
(i) The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) on 21 April 2015 accorded final approval to Rajaji National Park, Uttarakhand as India's 48th Tiger Reserve. 
(ii) With this notification, Uttarakhand got its second tiger reserve after the Corbett Tiger Reserve. 
(iii) The notification was announced by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat while releasing logo of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve. 
(iv) Uttarakhand is a state that has the second highest tiger population in the country after Karnataka. 

Eminent Historian Christopher Alan Bayly died
(i) Eminent historian Professor Christopher Alan Bayly died on 20 April 2015 in Chicago due to heart attack. 
(ii) His death was announced by the Centre for South Asian Studies at the University of Cambridge. He was 70. 
(iii) He was a historian who specialised in British Imperial, Indian and global history and his works covered the 18th and 19th century India and British imperial history. 
(iv) For his contribution to historical scholarship, he was knighted in 2007.
(v) At the time of his death, Bayly was Harmsworth Professor Emeritus, University of Cambridge, Professor of History, Queen Mary University of London and Vivekananda Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago.

(i) International Mother Earth Day was observed globally on 22 April 2015 with the theme It’s our turn to lead.

(ii) The theme highlights the need for change and seeks to inform the communities and leadership that action needs to be taken on climate by promoting a goal of environmental awareness through developing sustainable initiatives and galvanizing every human to pledge Acts of Green.
(iii) This is the 45th anniversary of the Earth’s Day, the year when the world leaders will pass a binding climate change treaty in Paris in December 2015. 
(iv) The treaty will be adopted to make sure the future of Earth, our planet and the survival of life on it. 

Tamil Nadu Government cancelled allotment of land for Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd
(i) Tamil Nadu Government on 21 April 2015 cancelled allotment of land for Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited (HCCBPL) in the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT) Industrial Growth Centre in Perundurai.
(ii) SIPCOT Managing Director R. Selvaraj issued the cancellation order of 71.34 acres allotted to HCCBPL for non-compliance of terms and conditions of allotment order / lease deed.
(iii) SIPCOT allotted 71.34 acres at the Industrial Growth Centre in Perundurai on 21 June 2013. 
(iv) A lease deed was executed and registered by HCCB on 23 January 2014.  The lease deed was executed for 17.9 crore rupees for a period of 99 years.

MakeMyTrip acquires travel guide startup Mygola
MakeMyTrip acquires travel guide startup Mygola
(i) Online travel services provider MakeMyTrip on Wednesday said it has acquired Mygola, a startup travel guide firm, and the latter’s entire team has joined the firm.
(ii) The acquisition is done through the company’s earlier announced innovation fund, which is formed to invest in start up or early-stage companies in the travel technology space, MakeMyTrip said in a statement.
(iii) The firm did not disclose financial details of the deal.
(iv) MakeMyTrip Group CEO Deep Kalra said the company has acquired 100 per cent of Mygola.
“I’ve known the Mygola team for over four years now and they have fantastic product expertise, especially in the mobile space,” he added.
(iv) Mygola CEO Anshuman Bapna said: “Our team is super excited to bring all the knowledge to the millions of MakeMyTrip travellers.”
