Christians appreciate good governance day: Ravishankar Prasad
i.) The government considers good governance as a means of development of all “Hindus, Christians and Muslims,” and Christians would appreciate the observance of December 25 as ‘good governance day’, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said.
ii.) Mr. Prasad, the first Minister to take a wide range of questions on the ongoing controversies generated by Hindutva groups’ conversion campaign, confrontational statements by Ministers.
iii.) The BJP-led government’s commitment to secularism told Karan Thapar’s Nothing But the Truth programme that “people have trust in the government.
India’s ‘Liar’s Dice’ out of Oscar race
i.) India's official entry "Liar's Dice" is out of Oscars' race after it failed to make the cut in the Academy's shortlist in the best foreign film category. 
ii.) Nine films advanced to the next round of voting in the category for the 87th Academy Awards out of 83 movies that had qualified.
iii.) "Liar's Dice", a road drama about a tribal woman's journey to find her missing husband, is the debut film of Geetu Mohandas. It stars Geetanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. 

Indian Super League: Elano Blumer gets the Golden Boot
i.) Chennaiyin FC’s Elano Blumer and FC Goa’s goalkeeper Jan Seda (FC Goa) topped the list for Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards respectively as the inaugural Indian Super League concluded here on Sunday.
ii.) Elano scored eight goals in 11 matches, apart from one assist. 
iii.) He is followed by FC Goa’s Mirosalv Slepicka (five goals/ four assists, 10 games), Kerala Blasters’ Iain Hume (five/ three, 16), Delhi Dynamos’ Gustavo Santos (five/ two, 15) and ATK’s Fikru Lemessa (five/ two, 11).

Ranji Trophy: Kerala bowlers impress
i.) The air was cold, there was grass on the pitch and Sandeep Warrier was fit to bowl.
ii.) Kerala captain Sachin Baby, thus, did not have to think twice before asking Hyderabad to bat first in the Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match at the Wayanad Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.

Batting approach in overseas tours has improved: Dhoni
i.) Even as their dismal run away from home continues, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni says the Indian cricket team’s approach to batting in overseas tours has “improved” in the last one year.
ii.) A listless India capitulated to a four-wicket defeat in the second cricket Test against Australia here after an inept batting display by the top-order to give the hosts an invincible 2-0 lead in the four-match series on Saturday.

Afridi to quit ODIs after 2015 World Cup
i.) In a bid to concentrate on his T20 career, Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Sunday announced that he will retire from one-day internationals after the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
ii.) “I always wanted to retire from ODIs with self-respect, grace and on a high and I think this is the best time to now focus only on T20 matches,” Afridi said in a press conference in Karachi.
iii.) “I am just happy that I have had the courage to take this decision at the right time. Because in the past I have seen bigger players than me not being able to decide when it was the right time for them to go,” he said.

Flipkart raises $700 million in fresh funding
Online marketplace Flipkart, on Saturday, said it had raised $700 million in fresh round of
funding. The fresh round of funding brought five new investors such as Baillie Gifford, Greenoaks Capital, Steadview Capital, T. Rowe Price Associates and Qatar Investment Authority on board.
According to a company statement, apart from the five new investors, existing investors, including DST Global, GIC, ICONIQ Capital and Tiger Global, also participated in this latest financing round.
