Haryana CM launches Web Portal, CM Window
(i) On the lines of the Prime Minister’s Office portal, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday launched his CM Web Portal and a CM Window in all districts of the State to bring transparency in governance and ensure prompt redressal of people’s grievances.
(ii) During the day, which was celebrated as “Good Governance Day,” Mr. Khattar also launched online registration of sale deeds in eight tehsils.

Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka's year-end note to employees
(i) Vishal Sikka wants Infosys to be more observant, inquisitive and embrace a more proactive approach in tacking problems for these steps will help the country's second-largest software exporter become the next generation services company.
(ii) "The freedom to think, to find our own unique wisdom, and then to live that and teach that, is at the heart of our evolution into a next-generation services company ," Sikka wrote in a blog addressed to the over 160,000 employees of Infosys.

Govt launches SMS-based cyclone warning system
(i) The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday launched a SMS-based alert system for general public for disseminating of weather and disaster-related information. 
(ii) Under round-the-clock web-based operational system, the IMD would send SMS to individuals who register themselves at the weather forecaster's official website.

SSC exams, registration may soon go online
(i) The examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) may soon be made online, if a recommendation of the expert group set up to review the SSC examination system is accepted. 
(ii) The expert group, constituted by the department of personnel and training (DoPT) on February 13 this year under the chairmanship of former UPSC member IMG Khan, has in its report made several recommendations for improvement in the current SSC examination system, including making it online. 

Chinese Foreign Minister in Nepal
(i) Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday for a three-day visit during which he would meet high-level Nepal political and government officials, reports said.
(ii) Minister Wang is scheduled to hand over medical equipment worth NRs 200 million (approximately INR 180 million) to the Civil Service Hospital at New Baneshwar which has been built with the Chinese government’s assistance.
(iii) On Friday, the Chinese Foreign Minister and his team would hold bilateral talks with Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and the ministry officials.

26 new services under Public Services Delivery Guarantee Act
(i) Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said exercising rights for public welfare while discharging duties is the mantra of good governance. 
(ii) He said Madhya Pradesh has made achievements as a result of good governance. 
(iii) Chouhan announced to include 26 new public services under Public Services Delivery Guarantee Act. 

Srikanth is World No. 4 in BWF ranking
(i) Young Kidambi Srikanth continued his meteoric rise in world badminton as he ended the
season by becoming only the third Indian male shuttler to break into the top-five, reaching a career-high fourth after hovering in the 40s in the beginning of the year.
(ii) The 21-year-old Indian, who clinched the China Super Series Premier before reaching the semifinals of back-to-back tournaments in Hong Kong and Dubai, jumped two places to join the elite club which comprises Prakash Padukone and national chief coach Pullela Gopichand, who were World No. 1 and 4 respectively in the past.
